History
About 500 people live in Rumbach, which founding year is unknown. The elevated center point is the 1000 year old Christ church, which was built on even older foundation walls. All together 1400 Hectar - from what 900 ha is forest - makes Rumbach to one of the largest communities in terms of area of the Rockland of Dahn.

Its frontiers range to the creek of the Wieslauter in Bundenthal, to Bruchweiler and the Königsbruch in Fischbach. After the village was almost completely destroyed, like all villages around, in the 30 years war, emigrants from Switzerland enlivened the village and rebuilt it. The about 80 half-timbered houses originate from the 18. &19. century.

Until the 1970´s the farmers had a good life from their forest and fields, but missed the change to Industrialization . Other villages passed by, because they settled more business. The inhabitants so have to have long ways to work. For citizens and young families the country life turned more attractive again because of the low Real Estate prices. The Rumbach inhabitants himself don´t like to move, if they don´t have to.
